What You Will Experience

Shinrin-yoku in Nacka with a woman touching tree in the forest

Be guided to the sensory journey and learn to appreciate and connect with the nature around you in a mindful manner.

In this Shinrin-yoku experience, I will guide you through your senses of sight, touch, smell, sound and taste. With every step in the beautiful forest of Stockholm, you will be one with nature like never before.

Would you like to disconnect from the worries of the week and relax for a while? Do you want to experience forest with the season’s colors and feelings in a unique way? So, you are invited to come to the forest bathing session with me!

Forest bathing (in Japanese, Shinrin-yoku), is about taking in nature through all our senses. We learn to slow down and to see the forest in a different way, which supports our health and brings a feeling of calmness, connection and peace.

Several studies have shown that an adequate practice of forest bathing can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, as well as improve vision, give a boost in the immune system, among other benefits. It is more than expected, since we belong to nature, right?

Please come to join me in this joyful practice!

Where We Will Meet

We will meet in front of the mini golf course of Nackareservatet (close to Hellasgården bus stop). It is a large natural reserve near the city center of Stockholm.

There are open areas where you can lay on the grass, and there are other areas with forest. There are unique spots surrounded by the lake, so there is also the possibility to swim over there.

The area has a restaurant and a sauna, in case you are interested to visit after the forest bathing session.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes, comfortable shoes, bring water, a cup (a drink will be provided) and a yoga mat or any carpet to lay down.
  • Bring sunscreen just in case!
  • Since it’s a gentle practice and the weather is getting colder, some may experience a cooling down in the body temperature, so I suggest to bring a warm jacket.
  • Please take your belongings in a bag that supports you to walk around with.
