Hello there,

Please take a moment to read this article about Forest Bathing in Japan before Week 3 session. If you feel it is too long, you can alway get back to it later - you can find it in The Mindful Library.

Thank you.

Warm regards,

Milena

Dear all,

Prior to conducting any Shinrin Yoku session, you will have to plan its theme and its content. For people to sign up, you will have to give them some information.

===================

Activity I

Your session is going to last 1h from the time of meeting your client. Think of a real location in your area for this session (refer back to Assignment Week 1). In your notebook, please write a description of points 1 through 8.

  1. What is your target group (tailor the experience to your target group)
  2. Name of your Shinrin Yoku experience
  3. About your host (i.e. you): what do you want people to know about you when they come across your website or leaflet?
  4. What are you going to do (include detailed description of the session: what are you going to do first, what next, etc.). Jump to Week 5 and Week 10 of The Mindful Space if you need more guidance.
  5. Design one activity based on your skills and one activity based on your creativity (something new you would like to try out you can of course combine both). Which senses would you like to focus on?
  6. What is included in the session (e.g. homemade snack, a cup of green tea, equipment, etc.)
  7. The location (where are you going to meet, describe the place, how to get there, are toilets nearby, etc.)
  8. What to bring

Note 1. Think of your local climate, the type of forest your areas offers, the most suitable starting time for the session to be carried out, etc.

This activity is designed to set and manage expectation of your clientes (at some point you will have to advertise your project/business). At times, you will not be able to fully meet expectations of your client/s due to other reasons you have no control over. This is one of the reasons we have to stay elastic. However, the key is to start thinking and putting into practice slowly your ideas and see what works for you and what does not.

Your idea about how you want to conduct your sessions (what activities to include or not, etc.) will evolve over time.

Submit your planning to The Mindful Tourist by email before Week 3.

===================

Please complete this before Week 3 of the training. This will be discussed in Week 3 Session.

I look forward to hearing about your ideas.

Thank you.

Warm regards,

Milena
