First, experience. Then, understand. Finally, guide.
We are pleased to introduce a new educational programme at The Mindful Tourist® — Meditation Guide Training TMT®, a long-term journey of personal meditation, self-discovery, theoretical understanding, and responsible meditation guidance. Unlike conventional short-term meditation courses, this training begins not with theory, but with 400 days of personal meditation practice. Why? Because learning about meditation is not the same as experiencing it. We believe that before learning to guide others, it is important to develop a meaningful relationship with one’s own mind, emotions, thoughts, and experiences.
Throughout the first 400 days, participants establish their individual meditation routines, maintain private reflective journals, and meet regularly in small online groups to discuss questions and discoveries arising from their practice. Only after completing this personal journey do participants begin eight weeks of theoretical learning, followed by five weeks of practical training, including ten meditation-guiding sessions.
___
400 Days of Personal Meditation
Daily meditation, personal reflection, and 13 online gatherings support the gradual development of an independent practice.
8 Weeks of Online Theory
Participants explore the history and science of meditation, human attention, consciousness, emotional regulation, compassion, ethics, and the responsibilities of meditation guides. Theory is combined with preparation for organizing meditation sessions.
5 Weeks of Practical Training
Participants prepare, facilitate, and reflect upon ten meditation-guiding sessions, developing practical skills and responsible approaches to supporting others.

The programme does not require participants to follow a particular religion, philosophical doctrine, or spiritual interpretation. Instead, it invites individuals to discover their own experiences and develop their own understanding. We do not wish to tell you what you should experience during meditation. We wish to accompany you as you explore your questions and gradually discover your own answers.
Developed by Milena A. Guziak, founder of The Mindful Tourist®, the training grew from her sustained personal meditation journey, documented in a four-part series of meditation diaries, with further reflections to come. More is still coming.
The programme reflects years of exploration through science, psychology, nature connection, contemplative practice, and reflective/expressive writing. Its wider vision is to cultivate thoughtful, compassionate, and responsible meditation guides who understand that meditation does not end when we open our eyes. It continues through our words, decisions, relationships, and the ways we interact with other people and the natural world. We hope this training will contribute, in its own modest way, to a more peaceful humanity and a more compassionate relationship with all living beings.
