Journey Through Life With the Wisdom of the Forest
At 森の心・人の心 – Journey Through Life With the Wisdom of the Forest, personal growth isn’t just a goal—it’s a journey. It is a key value that drives our every endeavor, setting us on a path of lifelong learning and development. The vehicles for this personal transformation? The contemplative practices of Shinrin Yoku, Kokoro, and Enso.
Shinrin Yoku, or forest bathing, promotes a deep connection with nature, acting as a mirror that reflects our inner world. Immersed in the calming serenity of the forest, we find the space for introspection, for self-reflection. It’s here, amid the whispering leaves and dappled sunlight, that we can truly hear ourselves.
Through this deep connection with the natural world, we cultivate a better understanding of ourselves. We’re encouraged to acknowledge our emotions, confront our fears, and celebrate our strengths. In essence, we get to know ourselves on a deeper level, thus facilitating personal growth.
Next comes Kokoro, the Japanese concept that represents the heart, mind, and spirit. Kokoro invites us to explore our feelings, thoughts, and intuitions, promoting a harmonious unity between these aspects of ourselves. As we explore and understand these elements, we uncover insights about our inner workings—our motivations, aspirations, and values. This understanding leads to growth, equipping us with the tools to approach life’s challenges with a balanced, resilient spirit.
Lastly, there’s Enso—a symbol of enlightenment, strength, and the universe. As we contemplate the Enso, it challenges us to delve into the realm of self-exploration. It symbolizes a moment when the mind is free to let the body create, enabling us to tap into our innate wisdom. Enso serves as a reminder that personal growth is an ongoing process of learning, unlearning, and relearning.
Our Shinrin Yoku Guide and Instructor trainings at 森の心・人の心 – Journey Through Life With the Wisdom of the Forest are steeped in these practices. Participants are nurtured and guided through their personal growth journey, exploring their connection with nature, deepening their understanding of Kokoro, and learning to appreciate the beauty of Enso.
