Jacopo is an Italian Experience Manager at Gion Misen in Kyoto, bringing a unique blend of cultural and experiential expertise to his role. With six years of dedicated practice in yoga and meditation, Jacopo seamlessly integrates these disciplines into his Shinrin Yoku sessions, enhancing the meditative and mindful aspects of forest bathing.
Before joining Gion Misen, Jacopo worked for three years at Oku Japan, a DTM specialized in hiking and walking tours across Japan. This experience has equipped him with extensive knowledge of Japan’s natural landscapes, making him an expert in selecting the best nature spots for walking and hiking.
Living in the Kansai region, Jacopo is blessed with easy access to a plethora of forests and mountains, such as Minoh, the mountains around Kyoto, Nara, and Wakayama. The beautiful Japanese forests surrounding Kyoto, with their lush greenery and tranquil atmosphere, provide the perfect setting for his sessions.
His passion for nature is complemented by his love for wine and a recent interest in incense, which he creatively incorporates into his sessions, offering participants a unique olfactory experience in the forest.
For those looking to explore the serene and beautiful natural landscapes of Japan while engaging in mindful practices, Jacopo’s sessions offer a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility.

“What a journey this course was! By studying about the outdoors, I really felt I was getting to know more and more my inner self. In studying under Milena, I felt a renovated strength in what I do and a deeper understanding of who I am.
I now feel I can use my character and optimism to create strong bounds in the community and to hint to people about a different way to live their lives, in harmony and connection with the surrounding nature.
I enjoyed the readings and new concepts throughout the course, especially those with a more scientific and/or psychological approach, like the ones from the week about biophilia, attention retention theory and the introduction of the nature-based interventions. And when I entered the self-practice and planning of invitations, I felt so many possibilities were opening in front of me, challenging the way I offer myself to people and the way I react to others.
With no doubt, I felt I grow out of a certain comfort zone I was in, and I was able to see my naiveness and some weak points I had, and I was able to work on them. I will celebrate my certification with a glass of nice Japanese sake, not forgetting one or more toast to the hard work and the disposability of Milena during these months.
Sending Milena and community good vibes and green energy from Japan. “
